Follistatin 344
Follistatin 344
Overview
Follistatin 344 is a naturally occurring glycoprotein that acts as an antagonist to myostatin, the protein that limits muscle growth. By neutralizing myostatin, Follistatin removes the natural "brake" on muscle development, enabling enhanced muscle growth and fat loss. The 344 variant is the full-length, most bioactive form.
Mechanism of Action
Follistatin binds directly to myostatin (GDF-8), activin, and other TGF-β superfamily members, neutralizing their biological activity. Myostatin is the primary negative regulator of muscle growth, and its inhibition leads to significant skeletal muscle hypertrophy. Follistatin also promotes follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) regulation and has effects on reproduction and inflammation.
Dosage Information
Typical Dose
100 mcg
Frequency
Once daily
Administration
Subcutaneous injection
Notes
Typically run in cycles of 10-30 days. Effects on muscle growth become apparent within 10 days. The 315 variant has a shorter half-life and more targeted muscle effects than the 344 variant.
